Drawing from the Memory

 

„Drawing from the Memory” points out private events from the past, that publicized in experienced by the viewer „here and now”.

Art intervention, carried out at the former getto, it highlights areas of Litzmannstadt Ghetto history that have so far remained present, only in archives. The value of cited spaces – „the drawings” – evidenced by the fact, they were able to tie togheter and interlace private and public narrative, reasoned with intuitive, recalled with experienced. 

 

 

Project „Drawing from the Memory” combines research, documentary and art activities inspired by the past, modernity and architecture of the city of Lodz, indicating those areas of topography which, because of their painful and ambiguous characteristic of the region's history, are forgotten or overlooked in silence.

 

 

In the next step of the process, urban action „Drawing from Memory” will be relocated into theatrical space (Teatr Szwalnia, ul. Struga 90). The performance will combine narration which is derived from an earlier action and a process of working on it.
